The founder Jim Morrison is a 5th dan black belt in Taekwondo and a black belt in BJJ. A few years ago, his long time family-friend Paulo Faria moved to Orlando and wanted to bring Champs Academy's high quality martial arts to the community here.

Guilherme Poeta is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and accomplished athlete, holding titles such as CBJJE World Champion and IBJJF American National Champion. With experience at top academies like Jacare Martial Arts and Gracie Barra Lake Nona, he has prepared many students for competitions.
Fluent in English and Portuguese, Guilherme excels in curriculum development, strategic game analysis, and team management, making him a versatile martial arts instructor.
